About Crowe Photography

Hi, my name is Rachael Crowe the eyes behind the camera at Crowe Photography. I am a self taught, on-location, natural light photographer. As a mother of six I know how quickly children grow and change and just how important it is to capture all of those special moments, and everything in between in print! I also know how expensive it has gotten to get those special moments captured on film, or digital in most cases now! That is why I strive to provide quality portraits at an affordable price.

My goal is to capture your real spirit, which means I try to avoid posing you in those uncomfortable poses! While I believe in the power of eye contact, I strive to capture a subject's natural spirit. I have a great love and appreciation for the emotions that photography can evoke, and strive to capture that in my work.

I schedule sessions allowing plenty of time so that nobody feels rushed. Sessions should be fun and stress free, so relax, we have plenty of time! Hopefully we’ve had a chance to discuss expectations of the session beforehand. If this has not occured, this will be the first order of business. I then like to spend a few minutes just getting to know your children with the hopes of making them comfortable with me and my camera. Extra time will be provisioned for newborns and babies who might need a feeding or a break from taking pictures. We will then find areas with ideal lighting and non-distracting backgrounds. I will loosely position you and/or your child(ren) but encourage movement and interaction. I like to choose several different portrait areas at each location to offer some variety. Depending on the number and ages of people being photographed session lengths will vary. You can count on me to be with you for at least one hour and sometimes up to three.
